The latest....

Thomas has been working hard on a BYU construction management competition team. They went to Reno for the competition a couple of weeks ago and took first place! I am so proud of him and all of his hard work.

I ran a half marathon in Moab, UT, on Saturday. The course was beautiful and among all my pain and suffering I really tried to enjoy it!

It definitely wasn't the easiest thing, but I am glad I did it. Sure was a good excuse for a fun little weekend get away to Moab.

My parents came into town a few weeks ago. Naturally, we had to get a little skiing/snowboarding in. Always love having them visit!

Mandy and Robby got engaged and we could not be happier for them! They will  be getting married July 16th, exactly a year from when we got married. So excited!

Cute Thomas at our Valentines Day dinner!
Life is good for the Assante's!

22nd Birthday!

A few weeks ago I turned 22! Thanks to my wonderful husband and great family and friends it was a fabulous day. Thomas made me breakfast and gave me some presents in the morning, which I loved.

Then I went out to lunch with some friends then out to dinner with Thomas. After dinner we met up with some friends and family at The Chocolate, a cute new dessert cafe in Orem. It was so delicious. I highly recommend the pazzokie.

I am excited to see what this next year brings my way! Thanks to everyone for making it a great day!

Brian Head

For MLK weekend we went up to Brian Head to ski and snowboard with my family. It was a blast as always and it is a family trip that is one of my favorites.

We had a sisters sledding race and I am happy to say I took first place!

Thomas and Abby getting ready to sled, and Jack about to attack with a snowball.

I love seeing my family and I love snowboarding with my husband!

Christmas Break

We couldn't have asked for a better Christmas break. It was filled with family, friends and two full weeks with no work or school!

It started off great with Micheal and Staley's wedding in the Salt Lake temple.
Then a week or so later we went to California for their beautiful reception!!

Christmas in Tucson with the Assante's!

New Year's in Mesa with the Giles!

Setting off some New Year's fireworks in the backyard.
It truly was the most wonderful time of the year!

La Jolla Groves

On Monday it was the two year anniversary of Thomas and I's first date.  I had heard about this new restaurant in the Riverwoods that is made with locally grown and organic food so I knew we had to go give it a try and celebrate! Not only was the food awesome but it was the cutest restaurant ever.

It was so fun and I would highly recommend this place. I sure am glad that Thomas asked me on a date two years ago!

Thanksgiving

After a canceled flight and a night at the Airport Inn due to the crazy Utah weather, we finally made it to Mesa for Thanksgiving!

Getting frozen yogurt with the fam was a must.

Some of the gang after running the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. We won a turkey because our family had the most people entered into the race! With all the extended family we had 17 people in the race. Aly made sure she picked out the most expensive turkey.
On Black Friday the boys went to the ASU game and all the girls went to the Grand Lux for lunch. It was probably some of the best food I have had in a while. Loved it! We then attempt to do some shopping but it was crazy! It was a great weekend and we always love a trip to good ol' Mesa.

My dear friend Katie West also gave her missionary farewell talk in church that weekend. She went into the MTC on Wednesday and we miss her already. But I am so proud of  her and Russia is lucky to have her! Here are some pictures taken at various farewell events for Sister West!

Punishers

Flag Football season came to and end this week for the Punishers after a tough loss. We were only a few games away from winning and getting one of those coveted BYU intramural champion t-shirts! We have been playing as a team for the last 3 years now and it has been a blast.  Thomas and I met three years ago when he came to help coach the Punishers. We were dating the second year and are now married the third year!  Here are some pictures of the team throughout the years.

We have lost and added a few girls over the years but for the most part the team has stayed the same. Sadly this is probably the last year for most of us becuase a lot of us are graduating and moving on to bigger and better things!  I have especially loved it this year because it was a great way to see all my friends at least once a week!
