La Jolla Groves

On Monday it was the two year anniversary of Thomas and I's first date.  I had heard about this new restaurant in the Riverwoods that is made with locally grown and organic food so I knew we had to go give it a try and celebrate! Not only was the food awesome but it was the cutest restaurant ever.

It was so fun and I would highly recommend this place. I sure am glad that Thomas asked me on a date two years ago!

Thanksgiving

After a canceled flight and a night at the Airport Inn due to the crazy Utah weather, we finally made it to Mesa for Thanksgiving!

Getting frozen yogurt with the fam was a must.

Some of the gang after running the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. We won a turkey because our family had the most people entered into the race! With all the extended family we had 17 people in the race. Aly made sure she picked out the most expensive turkey.
On Black Friday the boys went to the ASU game and all the girls went to the Grand Lux for lunch. It was probably some of the best food I have had in a while. Loved it! We then attempt to do some shopping but it was crazy! It was a great weekend and we always love a trip to good ol' Mesa.

My dear friend Katie West also gave her missionary farewell talk in church that weekend. She went into the MTC on Wednesday and we miss her already. But I am so proud of  her and Russia is lucky to have her! Here are some pictures taken at various farewell events for Sister West!

Punishers

Flag Football season came to and end this week for the Punishers after a tough loss. We were only a few games away from winning and getting one of those coveted BYU intramural champion t-shirts! We have been playing as a team for the last 3 years now and it has been a blast.  Thomas and I met three years ago when he came to help coach the Punishers. We were dating the second year and are now married the third year!  Here are some pictures of the team throughout the years.

We have lost and added a few girls over the years but for the most part the team has stayed the same. Sadly this is probably the last year for most of us becuase a lot of us are graduating and moving on to bigger and better things!  I have especially loved it this year because it was a great way to see all my friends at least once a week!

Recent Happenings!

We took a trip to Tucson a few weeks ago because it was Scott's missionary farewell. We listened to Hunger Games on tape on the drive there and it was amazing! Books on tape are awesome for the long drive to AZ. I loved Hunger Games and cant wait to read the next two. Scott did a great job on his talk and it was fun to see the Assante family! Scott just went into the MTC on Wednesday. He will definitely be missed but we are so excited for him to serve in Peru.

We had a fun Halloween weekend as well! On Friday night we made caramel apples with some friends. I love making caramel apples, probably my favorite thing about the Halloween season. I think I just really enjoy eating them...

On Saturday night we went to a little Halloween party that Michael and Staley put on. It was complete with a scary Halloween dinner and a game of  Fear Factor Halloween style.
Some scary eye balls I made, aka cake balls!

Our very last minute costumes, I was hesitant to even put a picture up because they are pretty lame. But nonetheless it was a fun filled weekend!

Katie's B-Day Bash

Katie turned 22! We had a little BBQ at her house and it was super fun. Katie is leaving on her mission on December 1st so we are soaking up all the time we have left with her!

I have the greatest friends and just love all these girls!

I made Katie a yummy chocolate and strawberry birthday cake!

Thomas came a bit late because he was at work. Hence the referee apparel.
We are loving life in Provo and love living close to so many great friends!

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

While Thomas was at work one night I found this recipe for flourless peanut butter cookies.
They are delicious and only have three ingredients.
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. peanut butter
Combine all the ingredients and bake at 350 for 10 minutes. The shape of the cookie doesn't change much in the oven so you can mold them into any shape you want. I thought this would be a nice little surprise for Thomas when he got home!

While they might not qualify as "healthy" they are healthier, and very yummy!
